Practical Martial Art
Program Slows Aging Process
|
Developed and introduced by Grandmaster Kwang Jo Choi, a 9th
Degree Black Belt, Choi Kwang Do (CKD) martial arts recently celebrated
its fifteenth anniversary at the Georgia International Convention
Center. Active in self-defense and health related research since the age
of 12, Grandmaster Choi oversees a network of more than 300 schools
worldwide from his headquarters in Atlanta.
Choi Kwang Do's training methods and concepts are unique in the fitness
industry. In CKD personal development, rather than sports competition,
is paramount. Living in today's world is highly stressful because
society is plagued with a fear of personal violence amplified in the
media. Too often the available alternatives to stress and peer pressure
are negative coping mechanisms such as drug use and drink. Combined,
these factors decrease the ability to learn, be creative, and reach our
full potential as a human being. Enrolling in a program such as CKD
counters these harmful trends of stress and violence. Regardless of age,
participants immediately discover that Choi Kwang Do movements
profoundly improve health and stress management.
The CKD system is designed for prevention and healing of adult disease
also known as modern disease. These degenerative diseases include
diabetes, heart and circulatory problems, arthritis, osteoporosis, and
obesity. The Choi Kwang Do system of training solves the root causes of
these medical conditions. Exercise is known as the most important
element for preventative health. However, often times exercise is
practiced incorrectly, which actually leads to poorer health. The CKD
system applies modern science and technology to promote optimum health
and fitness as well as longevity. The CKD integrated movement prevents
deterioration of brain cells and allows for cognitive thinking and
memory to improve.
Tired, feeling old? This is actually a thinking process accepted in our
modern society. If you are physically fit, you will automatically feel
mentally fit too! Because of regular CKD training, Grandmaster Choi
feels stronger now (at age 60) than when he was in his twenties or
thirties!
As a self defense system, Choi Kwang Do also utilizes practical
movements and equipment training to enhance inner confidence and peace
of mind. All this is taught in a non-competitive environment by
instructors who care about their students.
Choi Kwang Do teaches students to reduce the effects of stress.
Strategies found only at Choi Kwang Do include learning to use more
exercise, particularly integrated movement requiring balance and
coordination that assists nervous system development and function.
Physical movement from earliest infancy through adulthood plays a vital
role in the creation of nerve cell networks that are actually the
essence of learning.
Choi Kwang Do is a highly refined and scientific martial arts form,
distinctively different from all classical martial arts in concept and
movement. It should not be put into the same category with many of
hundreds of sub styles of existing martial arts systems.
